Use this page as a source-led checklist. It does not turn a community path into an official one, and it does not assume an unpublished cloud, transfer, or recovery rule.
PC save-file location
Steam version (community-reported):
<Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\3974650\remote\win64_save\
PCGamingWiki reports this path for the Steam version. CAPCOM has not officially documented the exact folder, file names, number of slots, or which files are safe to edit. Treat the path as a starting point only: close the game and Steam before making a copy, then keep the original untouched.
The same community reference lists an Epic Games Store path, but this guide does not present it as verified. If your install is not the Steam version, check the live storefront and your local installation before moving any files.
Steam Cloud and backups
Steam’s official store listing for Onimusha: Way of the Sword includes Steam Cloud in its feature list. That confirms support, not the precise files or slot data that the game uploads; those details are not officially documented.
For a cautious manual backup, exit the game, allow Steam to finish any pending sync, exit Steam, and copy the community-reported folder to a separate location. Do not overwrite files while Steam is resolving a cloud conflict. Steam’s support guidance is the authority for the client’s conflict prompts and sync status.
If Steam presents a cloud conflict, stop before choosing a side. Compare the displayed timestamps and preserve a copy of the local folder first. Neither CAPCOM nor Steam has published a game-specific recovery workflow for this title, so there is no safe basis for claiming a universal “correct” choice.
Console save data
CAPCOM has not published a game-specific console save-path, slot-count, migration, or recovery document for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, use the console’s own save-data management and backup settings rather than trying to locate a PC-style folder.
Cloud backup availability, transfer tools, subscriptions, storage limits, and conflict handling are platform policies that can vary by account, region, and system settings. Check the official PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo support page for your console before deleting local data or changing hardware.
Lost saves, migration, and sync conflicts
- Lost PC save: check Steam Cloud’s sync state and the local folder before reinstalling or deleting anything. A game-specific restore tool has not been officially documented.
- Moving to another PC: sign into the same Steam account and let Steam Cloud finish its normal sync first. If you also use a manual copy, keep it offline until you have confirmed the newer save.
- Cloud conflict: make a separate local copy before selecting either version. Steam’s conflict screen is the live source for the dates and versions it can see.
- Moving between PC and console: cross-platform save transfer has not been officially announced. Do not assume that the same publisher account, a cloud subscription, or a similar Capcom game enables it.
Sources and evidence limits
Official Steam store page confirms Steam Cloud support. Steam Support is the source for client sync and conflict handling. PCGamingWiki is the community source for the Steam path above. The platform guidance comes from PlayStation Support, Xbox Support, and Nintendo Support. CAPCOM has not officially documented the exact PC save location or game-specific console recovery behavior as of this check.
